Nancy Goettman, founder of Awake America Ministries, has an ambitious goal: to get 85% of churchgoers registered and (educated) to vote. Once registered, she'd also like to get them more involved (in the process of) electing candidates who will help turn America back under God.
Guided by Exodus 18:21, which clearly states we are to choose God-Fearing leaders, the
(main) mission of Awake America Ministries is to help bring our nation back under God through the the following five goals: 1- our laws and leaders back under God 2-Strengthening our Churches, 3- Strengthening our Families 4- Bringing our Public Schools back under God, 5- Bringing (America's) full support back to Israel.
Goettman sees this ministry as critical today because of the setbacks she has seen in the political arena (over and over), such as removal of God and prayer in Public Schools (and the public arena), abortion and attacks on the traditional family values.
For most of her adult life, Goettman has seen God's hand preparing her for this ministry. Born in Massachusetts and raised in New York, Goettman met her Savior Jesus Christ when she was nine years old (through an Oral Robert's TV program) and living in Connecticut.
Today, she is a member of (Christian World Worship Center with Pastor Michael Sides with a Non-Denominational Restoration Ministry). She has also been a member of Benny Hinn's (8 years) and John Hagee's (almost 3 years) who are both advocates for Israel and had a tremendous impact on equipping her for her calling.
She has a long heritage in American politics, and at 62, is tenacious for this cause. Goettman, (which is German for God's Man) is a descendent of Governor William Bradford, one of the first pilgrim's who came to the New Promiseland n 1620 on the Mayflower in search of religious freedom. He is also one of the original signers of the Mayflower Compact, which was the first "written" civil government contract between God and man in the USA. Goettman says ,"I can hear their blood crying from the ground to turn our nation back to God (Psalm 33:12) "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord"
Goettman is a Certified Public School teacher, having taught in more than 140 schools in three different states: Mississippi, Florida, and Texas. She has taught all subjects Pre-K-12th...all grades, including Public, Private, Charter, Montesorri Schools, as well as adults in Vocational and Community Colleges, and finally males and females in Jails, Prisons, and 'Work Release' Centers. Having taught the first 16 years, I believe the Lord then moved me into substitute teaching for at least 17 years to, a) give me more time to spend in a part-time ministry and, b) give me a wider range of experiences to equip me to do another part of what he wants in the future. Also I believe the Lord has given me years of experience in a part-time seasonal job to grade papers on tests for grades 1-12 from many other states in Reading, Writing, Math, and Science
She attended mostly New York State public schools when Christian prayer was heard over the intercom and elective Bible Curriculum was commonplace. She moved from New York the same year the New York State Board of Regents took prayer out of public schools and headed for Misssissippi during a time when segregation and predjudice were at an all time high.

"Christain involvement in politics is critical now more than ever because the soul of our nation is about to be lost," Goettman said. If every Christian does their part, we can get Godly people elected into office."
How can Christians accomplish this? The first step, Goettman believes, is for Christians to pray that God fearing leaders will apply to be a candidate (there is a great lack of God-fearing leaders running for office). The second step is for churches to hold Voter Registration drives to get people registered to vote. Then thirdly, Goettman points to Awake America and Free Market Voter Guides on Moral Issues, both are needed as a needed key tool in helping Christians make Godly choices at the polls. Otherwise (Hosea 4:6) "My people perish for lack of knowledge". (Many pastors/priests push for parishioners to get out and vote but the people are ignorant on where the candidates stand on moral issues and the flock will perish if they keep voting ignorantly. Putting Voter Guides on the table for 1/10 of the people to get, means 9/10's of the people who are ignorant when they vote, override the educated voter's votes. The Voter's Guides need to be given out at the Church doors. She would like to see greater distribution of the Guides in more Churches, Christian Bookstores, and other places where Christians gather. The last and most crucial step is to go to the polls in record numbers. (There has been lack of motivation because 1. there is lack of knowledge as to who the Godly candidates are and 2. there have been very few Godly candidates running because most Godly candidates lose because of lack of knowledge on the Godly voters on who to help and who to vote for. THERE HAS BEEN ALMOST NO VOTER GUIDES ON MORAL ISSUES THAT WERE AVAILABLE THAT WERE POTENT IN THE PAST TO THE CHURCH. That is why we need your support to continue this cause as we are new and need more time to get to more churches and explain our ministry. There are costs to run this ministry. We want to Speak to and Educate churches. There has been almost no one in leadership representing Christians in the last four years or also will be for the next two years in our local area. There has not been a majority of leaders that won votes for laws that stood for the Judea-Christian values before that ..many years previously in the past. It does not surprise me that many cities were sending their pregnant teenagers to San Antonio to get an abortion because of our liberal laws. When is San Antonio going to wake up? According to Goettman, Christians have been too passive in the past in the political process. (With so few Christians helping Godly candidates or getting out to vote, who is left to vote and who is elected and allowed to lead? Why would an ungodly leader make a Godly law the majority of the time? ) And we wonder why our religious freedom is being taken away more and more?
